Tony Matthews Named Executive Director of Marketing for Cox Communications
ATLANTA – The appointment of Tony Matthews to Executive Director of Marketing for Cox Communications Inc. was announced today by David Pugliese, Vice President of Product Management and Marketing.
In his new role, Matthews will be responsible for bundling strategy. He also will spearhead Cox's efforts in competitive intelligence and customer retention and winback.
In making the announcement, Pugliese said, “Tony brings almost 20 years of cable marketing experience, making him more than qualified to handle the competitive challenges of our environment. His experience in various roles with multiple operators, and on the supplier side, gives him the unique ability to approach our complex marketplace from multiple perspectives to reach the best outcome.”
Matthews joined Cox in 1988 as Direct Sales Representative for a former Cox system in Lubbock, Texas. Most recently he serviced as Vice President of Marketing in Cox's Kansas/Arkansas operation.
A graduate of Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va., Matthews earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and his MBA from The College of William & Mary.
