Kevin Hart
Kevin, born in Columbus, Ohio, joins Cox most recently from Clearwire Corporation, where he served as the Chief Information Officer since 2009. While there, Kevin was responsible for the company’s Information Technology, Enterprise Network Deployment Planning Office and Business Process Management functions. Among his key accomplishments with Clearwire include leading the transformation of the IT organization during the deployment of the company’s 4G wireless broadband service across the nation.
Prior to his role at Clearwire, Kevin had been the Chief Information Officer for Level 3 Communications from 2005 to 2009. At Level 3, Kevin led a large technology team with the primary responsibility of providing leadership alignment and vision to help people execute and deliver on critical projects and support new services.
While there, Kevin was responsible for IT which included the process integration of eight companies acquired by Level 3, improving the processes for the sales and operational functions, and creating several innovative people leadership programs specifically geared toward IT professionals. One of Kevin’s most significant accomplishments was leading the implementation of the Unity program which simplified and transformed the sales, order, inventory and billing business processes allowing the company to retire 700 applications.
Kevin began his professional career at SBC Communications and later joined International Paper as director of Strategic Planning in 1992. From there, he joined Capgemini Consulting, formerly Ernst & Young, and worked in a variety of leadership roles including as vice president of the Telecom, Media, Entertainment and global OSS practice. He was responsible for delivering IT business solutions to a wide range of domestic and international clients.
Kevin and the IT teams he has managed have been recognized by several industry organizations. For two consecutive years, they were recognized by CIO Magazine’s prestigious global cross industry CIO 100 Award in 2007 and 2008. In addition, they were also honored as a 2008 Information Week 500 award winner based on technology innovation.
He earned a bachelor-of-science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tulsa and an MBA in Finance with Honors from Notre Dame.
